Agantuk is a short television serial based on Dhiruben Patel’s short novel of the same name. Versatile actors have given a real life to each and every character of the series by their acting of par excellence. Story reflects and makes you wonder over the cliché of relationship within a family. It portrays the human nature in form of three brothers trying to solve and define their relationship with each other, but greed and money finally dictates the relationship.
Youngest of three brothers decided to give up his “Sanyast” ; Monkhood after fifteen years and he informs his two elder brothers that he is returning back into the society. Bomb explodes in both the brothers’ house as they were surprised by the news. The next came the investigation of why he is coming back after so many years? Is he after ancestral property? Who will look after him? What he will contribute towards the upkeep of the house. The brother comes back and the whole series of manipulation starts between two elder brothers, equally participated by wives and family.
The youngest brother after renouncing his monkhood comes to settle in society but manipulation, greed and smallness of people around him makes him very sad and he leaves society again on a life long journey for finding peace; he was just a guest “AGANTUK” for few days in our society.[/column][/row]
